Raichal Reed, SBD
Birth and Postpartum Services and Support
Meet Gladiolus Doula
Hello, my name is Raichal and I am a birth, bereavement, adoption, and postpartum companion. Education and trust are the pillars that form my relationship with my clients and we build a strong foundation together to continue a happy and healthy pregnancy. I have attended births since I was a child and have always been inspired by the power and strength of the adults in my life in their birthing journey. My role in any birth is to make sure that not only are they safe and not experiencing trauma, but also to empower the birthing person in their journey into a new phase of life. Parenthood.
My Services
How I Assist
Prenatal and Labor Support
Informative and Compassionate
Our initial consultation will give me an idea of how to properly assist you in your birthing journey, get to know you, and educate you on the coming weeks depending on how many months along you are. A minimum of two prenatal visits, one optional visit alongside you with your care provider, and one postpartum visit are all included in this plan.
Postpartum Support
Offering Support
Sometimes it is necessary and needed to have assistance once the baby is born. Spending time in your home is very intimate and I want to establish trust as well as encourage all family to rest and relax while I am caring for the newborn. Light meals and cleaning are also included.
Placenta Encapsulation
Health and Wellness
Health in the postpartum is just as important as health in the prenatal. Placenta encapsulation is a way for you to take back your health and hormones that you have created in pregnancy and also has been shown to aid in hormonal balance to avoid postpartum depression and low milk supply.

What is a doulaA doula is a non medical perinatal companion that assists you in your pregnancy goals. A doula can help with common discomforts in pregnancy (low back pain, resource lists to local specialists, nutritional changes, etc.). A doula also assists in labor support and applies comfort measures directly or instructs the partner how to perform them.
